Critiques
The tattoo on the back of the next is a very nice touch.
The highlights on the drool are stellar, and the skin tones are spot on. A quick glance could mistake this one for a photo. The subtle background give a nice watercolour feel to the whole painting.
The only thing that strikes me as slighly odd is that the human is staring directly into the creatures nose, a slight up tilt or down tilt might have added a touch of flow to the painting as a whole.
The realisum blows me away!!
I am amazed at the level of detail on the human figure, it has a photo realistic quality to it. The fine hairs on his head and face/ neck are so perfectly done! I especially like the addition of the scars, it seems to add to the overall feeling of danger.
The creativity on the more monstrous figure is wonderful! The impact of his facial expression is phenomenal.
The one thing about this painting that I feel could be looked at for improvement is the eye of the human guy. I know his eyes are fairly closed in the ref pic, but it seems to detract from the connection of the two. I would envision them staring each other down more.
Overall this painting is a compelling example of *LindaLisa's mastery of her medium and its realistic quality and intensity really draws the viewer in!
