Artist's CommentsThis was something for me to learn more. Much like killing 10 birds with 1 stone, I wanted to hit one areas that I have not painted before or not worked on much to learn new things and study a little more closely. I still have alot to learn and I think this really helped. I started this to be a speed painting...so much for that lol Time: 1 week + Photoshop CS3/ Wacom Graphire 4 Ref Photos: Sky- [link] Woman- [link] Copyright© 2009 Linda Lisa West Do not reuse or modify in any way without my written permission. Lastly, the girl looks fantastic. her hair looks so perfect, and the detail in her dress is wonderful. it never ceases to amaze me the way people can drawn and texture fabric so well.
All in all, a breath-taking piece.
The color scheme is absolutely fantastic. I enjoy the way they blend together on a natural scale. The way you can still determine the line between sky and sea. And the great fog rolls that are coming in. The waves down by the rocks and the ones crashing into them are a great touch.
The sky is great as well with the moon still high in the sky whilst the sun breaks the horizon. Looks to me like there is a hidden dragon or something of the sort coming in as well.
Great details on the cliffs as well, you can really feel that they are indeed jagged cliffs not just a straight drop.
Last but not least is the lady. Absolutely stunning. The way you have portrayed her. And the way she has portrayed how she feels. Is great.
My one and only real discretion would be that the highlight on the clouds is a little to bright with the angle of the sun where it is. So they are a little outlined. But nothing too big of a deal.
Fantastic work my friend.
